PS4 will be getting a Crash Bandicoot remaster next year following a successful Skylanders Imaginators cameo. But the games will be missing one key component.

The Crash Bandicoot release date was ‘leaked’ last week. First by a finnish retailer and then by a Brazillian retailer, both claiming the remastered game will be with us next February.

Crash Bandicoot use to be one of my all time favourite games back in the day of early gaming so I am very excited for this release.

Sony announced the remaster of the original Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot: Warped games at E3.

However no such date was given for when the remasters would be heading our way.

However it’s uncertain whether or not either of these are dates for the retailer, but I would highly-suspect that to be the case because while the listing appears to be quite legitimate, It has also got the same date as PlayStation 4 exclusive Horizon: Zero Daw.

More recently though it’s been discovered that these remasters won’t be entirely faithful to the original games.
One question I have been asking myself is will Josh Mancell will be involved in the remaster of this classic game. Mancell composed the soundtracks for the original games and fans were crying out to see him take up the task of recording some new renditions for the new release. The sound track of the games really made the game what it is.
Sadly after some research and digging I found a post on his Facebook page saying:
“I’ve heard word that Vicarious Visions is doing remix/remakes for the upcoming Crash trilogy “remasters”. Unfortunately, I will not be involved with the project. Thanks for all the enthusiasm and positivity regarding the original music.”
I was really gutted when I read this but who knows this new soundtrack might be as good or even better than the classics.
One exciting thing to look forward to is that Jess Harnell will be reprising his role as Crash.

“Activision is paying homage to the beloved ’90s videogame star in fun new ways with Skylanders Imaginators,” reads a Press Release sent out by Activison.

“No Crash game would be complete without the ability to jump on TNT Crates to blow them up or collect the Bazooka Crate to get a rocket launcher.

“From his edginess to his trademark wackiness, Crash is featured with a full move set and upgrade path based around his signature spin attack, as well as callbacks to his beloved past, including moves that incorporate exploding crates with 3-2-1 countdowns, wumpa fruit, a jetpack attack from high in the air and more.”

On a whole I have to say I am really looking forward to this release!
